This project is a very good idea.

I like to use exactly the same colors provided by the author (e.g. Freese, Anja: Plastisch schöne Perlentiere: Laternenträger) However, these rocailles are very good for making striped socks. It is also very good the blue pearl with white stripe to create crocus.
Very good, if dense thin stripes on a body, but in small size we can not create it, and we do not wan it made out of mini-rocailles (1,5 mm Miyuki), we can use instead of a larger, striped beads (2,6 mm).
I'm sure I'm going to make a bird, from striped beads.
The pale colors are always needed. The chalky, non-transparent („opak”) coloures are good, because they do not wear. The bore-painted (Rocailles mit farbeinzug) rocailles already destroyed during beading. Washed away the paint, due to water.
The ones with a metallic surface fade, due to rubbing, without water. The acid sweat of the hand spoils the situation longer.
Each has its pros and cons.
